Course information

Knowledge of multicultural ASEAN and insights into the issues and challenges of cultural diversity facing ASEAN. This course is an 4-week introductory course with an estimated 3 hours of learning per week, offering a digital certificate upon eligibility.
 
What will you achieve?
By the end of the course, you‘ll be able to...

1. Classify the various approaches towards understanding culture and multiculturalism as well as evaluate the way multiculturalism applies to the ASEAN context.
2. Demonstrate language contact in multilingual societies and how language policies influence multilingual contexts in ASEAN.
3. Evaluate the differences in national cultures and cross-cultural communication using known models and apply the same in the ASEAN setting.
4. Assess the Western variants multiculturalism with trends in ASEAN.
